A dental implant replaces a missing tooth. A small post is placed in the jaw bone, and once it has settled, a crown is fixed on top.
Is it right for you?
An implant needs enough healthy bone and good general health. Some medical conditions, and smoking, can affect how well an implant settles. The dentist examines you first, may take an X-ray, and tells you whether an implant is suitable or whether a bridge or a denture may suit you better.
What to expect
An implant usually takes more than one stage over several months: placing the post, letting it settle, then fitting the crown. The price for one tooth starts from the amount shown, and the dentist confirms the full cost before treatment.
